  1.  STIS 3-D version 2.0 ╜1994 by Phillip W. O'Neal

  3. About STIS 3-D:
  4.       STIS was designed to change an image that you create into a 
  5. stereoscopic 3-D image. STIS will run on any ST, TT, FALCON, ect., and 
  6. create 3-D images any size(limited by memory) and any number of colors. 
  7.  
  8. What the menu entries do:
  9. FILE
  10. -------
  11.  (O)pen - select a PNT/TPI file to convert to 3-D . During the conversion you 
  12. can click in the image window or press the SPACEBAR to update the display.
  13.  
  14.  (C)lose - Erase STIS image from memory.
  15.  
  16.  (S)ave - Save the STIS image as a PNT/TPI file.
  17.  
  18.  (Q)uit - Exit the program.
  19.  
  20. INFO
  21. -------
  22.  System (?) - Display information about your system.
  23.  
  24.  (F)ile - Display information about a PNT/TPI file. 
  25.  
  26. COLOR
  27. -----------
  28.  (U)se - Sets the way STIS uses the color information of each pixel in the 
  29. PNT/TPI file while converting to 3-D. The settings are only used when 
  30. converting a palette based image. 
  31.  Save settings will save the status of the color use buttons in STIS.INF and 
  32. if this file exists in the programs directory it will load the settings when 
  33. the program is run.
  34.  While converting the file to a 3-D image each pixels color is used to set 
  35. the depth of a pixel in the 3-D image.
  36.  If 'VDI order' is selected then the color register number of each pixel is 
  37. converted to the order that the VDI stores them in.
  38.  If 'RGB value' is selected then the depth of a pixel is set using the RGB 
  39. value of the pixel. A depth of 0 would be the background and the larger the 
  40. pixels RGB value the farther from the background the pixel appears, otherwise 
  41. the depth of a pixel is set using the resisters number: in a 256 color 
  42. picture you can have 256 depths from 0 to 255.

  44.  (R)estore - Restore the system palette as before the program was run.
  45.  
  46. PATTERN
  47. ---------------
  48.  (L)oad - load a pattern. If the file 'PAT_???.PNT' / 'PAT_???.TPI' 
  49. (???=2,4,16,256,16B,24B,ect. for number of colors or (B)its per pixel) exists 
  50. in the programs directory it will automatically load when the program is run. 
  51. The pattern can be any size but the width should be a multiple of 16. If no 
  52. pattern file exists then a default pattern will be used.
  53.  
  54.  (V)iew - display the current pattern.
  55.  
  56. The keyboard:
  57.  
  58.  TAB - Full screen view, pressing TAB again will exit full screen mode. The 
  59. arrow keys will scroll the image, the arrow keys will also scroll the STIS 
  60. window contents at any time.
  61.  
  62.  SPACE - Top or update STIS window.
  63.  
  64.  W - close the top window.
  65.  
  66.  Only uncompressed PNT(Prism Paint) and TPI(TruePaint) files can be used, the 
  67. next update will support the TIFF format.
